We set up Google Analytics 4 and Tag Manager so you can trust the data

Tools
  • Google Analytics
  • Google Tag Manager

Our usual stack. We bring in other tools when the task or the project calls for it.

GA4 works differently from the old Google Analytics: everything is built on events, and without a thought-out setup the reports don’t show what the business needs.

We design the event schema, implement it through Google Tag Manager, connect cookie consent and link GA4 to your ad accounts.

What we do

  • A measurement plan: events, parameters, conversions
  • Google Tag Manager setup
  • Consent Mode for cookie choices
  • GA4 linked to Google Ads and exported to BigQuery
  • Reports and explorations for your questions
Challenges

Where GA4 gets it wrong

  • Since moving to GA4 the reports make no sense

We build custom reports and explorations around business questions: lead sources, the funnel, cohorts. The default screens stay, but you work with numbers that read clearly.

  • Conversions count twice while purchases go missing

We debug every tag in GTM preview and DebugView and test for duplicate events on page reload and on return from the payment page.

  • Our site is built on React and GA4 misses page changes

We track route changes via the history API and the dataLayer and send events straight from app code. Then we verify each virtual page view arrives exactly once.

  • CRM sales never make it into GA4

We send deals and refunds through the Measurement Protocol with a client ID. GA4 then shows not just the lead but the revenue it brought.

  • Our audience is in Europe and the cookie banner breaks tracking

We set up a consent management platform and wire it to tags in GTM: what fires before consent, after it, or never. We test refusal and partial-consent scenarios.

Is it for you

Who needs a proper GA4 setup

A good fit if

  • Your site serves international audiences or two markets at once
  • You run an online store and need e-commerce data with revenue and refunds
  • You run a SaaS or web app with sign-up, trial and payment
  • Several agencies run your ads and need the same conversions, Google Ads included

Not a fit if

Approach

GA4 without surprises

  1. Every event tested

After setup we test events in DebugView and reconcile them with the CRM, so conversions are neither duplicated nor lost.
  2. Names people understand

Consistent naming rules for events and parameters keep reports readable a year later instead of turning into a mess.
  3. A tidy container

We clean up Tag Manager: remove dead tags, organize everything into folders and leave notes for your team.

Process

How we work

  1. 01

    Current setup review

    1–2 days

We go through your Tag Manager container and GA4 property: duplicate tags, broken triggers, extra and missing events.

You get A list of GA4 and GTM errors with what we fix and what we remove
  2. 02

    Event plan

    1–2 days

We define GA4 events, parameters and key events for your goals and, if needed, write a dataLayer spec for your developer.

You get An event and parameter sheet plus a dataLayer spec
  3. 03

    GTM and GA4 setup

    2–4 days

We configure tags, triggers and variables, key events, ecommerce and internal traffic filters.

You get A clean GTM container and a configured GA4 property
  4. 04

    Debugging and consent

    1–2 days

We test every event in Preview mode and DebugView, set up Consent Mode and publish the container.

You get A published container version and setup notes for your team

A basic install only collects page views and standard events. Without your own events and conversions you can’t see what drives leads.

From $800. The total depends on the number of events and conversions, the state of your current container, Consent Mode for European visitors and whether you need the BigQuery export. We send an estimate after reviewing your existing setup.

A mode where analytics respects the visitor’s cookie choice. It’s needed for European audiences and recovers some data through modeling.
