New websites with WordPress as the CMS and a fast Nuxt front-end: easy for editors, fast for visitors
- WordPress
- Nuxt
- GraphQL
- Vercel
Our usual stack. We bring in other tools when the task or the project calls for it.
WordPress is the admin editors know best, and Nuxt is a fast modern front-end. In a headless setup each does what it does best: WordPress stores the content, Nuxt delivers it to visitors.
We build new websites on this stack from day one: designing the blocks editors build pages from and the API the front-end reads them through.
What we do
- Content structure: post types, fields, blocks
- An API on WPGraphQL
- A Nuxt front-end with server rendering and animation
- A block-based page builder for editors
- Draft previews and publishing without a developer
When plain WordPress isn't enough
The site is buried in plugins and crawls
We move page rendering to Nuxt with server-side rendering. WordPress only stores content, so the plugins for visuals, caching and sliders can go.
Editors are afraid of breaking the layout when they edit
We design a block set with strict ACF fields — heading, text, image, button. Editors assemble pages but can't wreck spacing or typography.
Animation and interactivity fight the theme and page builder
WebGL, page transitions and scroll effects live in the Nuxt front-end, separate from the admin. WordPress doesn't even know they exist.
The same content is needed in an app or on a second site
Content goes out through WPGraphQL, so a mobile app, a second site or a storefront can read the same entries. Copy is edited in one place.
Hosting buckles under traffic spikes
Nuxt serves cached pages from a CDN and only hits the WordPress database after something is published. Spikes barely touch the server running the admin.
Who the headless setup is for
A good fit if
- Your team already works in WordPress and doesn't want a new admin
- The design has animation and interactivity no theme can hold
- The same content has to reach the site and other channels
- The site will grow: new sections, languages, integrations
Not a fit if
- A small site that's rarely updated — we'll set up a regular WordPress theme instead
- Your WordPress site works and only needs a fresh look — that's a redesign job
- You need a store built on WooCommerce plugins — headless adds friction, a Shopify store is simpler
Frontend freedom, a familiar admin
No retraining for editors
Content lives in the WordPress your team already knows, so they can start publishing on launch day.Design without theme limits
The frontend doesn’t depend on themes or page builders — animations and complex layouts ship exactly as designed in Figma. The admin stays out of sight
Visitors get pre-rendered pages while WordPress sits behind them, so plugin vulnerabilities don’t reach the public site.Change one part at a time
A redesign doesn’t touch the content, and a new frontend section doesn’t force changes in the admin.
Express website audit
We review your site and within 3 business days send a PDF with up to 10 specific growth points, sorted by priority.
- Load speed and the mobile experience

For live websites only. No strings attached: you can make the fixes in-house.
How we work
- 01
Content model
1–2 weeksWe map out what your team publishes and define the fields, relations and editor roles in WordPress.
You get A schema of post types, fields and roles signed off by your editors - 02
Prototypes and design
3–4 weeksWe design pages from blocks your editors can later assemble on their own, for every screen size.
You get Figma mockups and a block library that pages are built from - 03
WordPress admin
2–3 weeksWe set WordPress up as a clean CMS: post types, fields, previews and an API for the front-end, with no theme or plugin bloat.
You get A working admin with clear fields and an API that serves content to the front-end - 04
Nuxt front-end
5–6 weeksWe build a fast Nuxt front-end with server rendering, caching and pages that refresh as soon as you publish in WordPress.
You get A staging site where an edit in the admin shows up on the page without a developer - 05
Migration and launch
2 weeksWe move the content, set up redirects and hosting and train your editors. For 3 months after launch we fix bugs under warranty.
You get A live site with separate CMS and front-end hosting plus a cheat sheet for editors
What to bring to a headless WordPress build
- A list of content types — services, news, case studies, team — and their fields
- Who publishes and how often
- Access to your current WordPress if content moves over
- Plugins your team can't live without
- Hosting requirements, or a server you already have
- Sites with animation you like
A content walkthrough call
We discuss what your team publishes and how the workflow runs. After the call we send a content model, a work plan, a timeline and an estimate.

We’ll check whether headless fits your site, design the blocks your editors build pages from and put a fast Nuxt front-end on the admin they know.
Speed, security and design freedom: the front-end doesn’t depend on a theme or plugins, and the admin is hidden from visitors.
From $12,000. That is a bit more up front than a theme-based site and less as you grow, since new blocks don’t fight a theme. The total depends on the number of page templates and editor blocks, content migration, draft previews and API integrations. We send an exact estimate after a call.
Yes, we set up draft previews on the real front-end.
A bit more up front, but less as you grow: new blocks and pages are added without fighting a theme.
The front-end on Vercel or your own server, WordPress on any hosting.
